About
Stefani Ruben, MS, OTR/L has been serving children and their families as a pediatric occupational therapist for over two decades. Stefani has worked in various settings, including private practice, inpatient and outpatient hospital departments, and elementary schools. She has experience working with children of all ages, with various diagnoses, including but not limited to, Autism, sensory processing, learning, and attention differences, Cerebral Palsy, and Traumatic Brain Injury.
Stefani is trained in several Social-Emotional Learning curricula, including Conscious Discipline®, The Alert Program®, and The Zones of Regulation. Stefani is also trained in the use of Therapeutic Listening®, NeuroNet StepUp to Learn, Interactive Metronome®, Handwriting Without Tears, and Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI®). In addition to individual therapy and parent coaching, Stefani also organizes therapeutic groups for handwriting instruction and social-emotional learning. Stefani’s treatment approach is child and family-centered, with great importance placed on parent, teacher, and caregiver involvement, home programming, and education.
Stefani earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at The University of Michigan in 1999. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy at Rush University in Chicago in 2001.
